Kyonghwa began her yoga journey in 1996 and has been a daily Ashtanga practitioner since 2005. She has completed Primary, Second, and Third Series teacher training with Tim Miller, as well as teacher training with Adarsh Williams. She is a registered yoga & certified Pilates teacher, and has extensive experience employing therapeutic yoga with those who need to improve their flexibility & mobility.
Kyonghwa has taught Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga since 2008. She loves the Ashtanga yoga practice wherein physical movement using breath, bandhas and driisti results in a meditative state. She believes daily Ashtanga Yoga practice, over time, moves one from the physical practice to a recognition of the spiritual aspects of yoga. Kyonghwa's love of yoga in general and Ashtanga in particular has led her to open Ashtanga Yoga Monterey to serve those who want to learn and/or practice Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
